yeah, me too. when I first heard of Captain America I wondered wtf his power is. being... American? white eagles? and whether he was supposed to be America personalized.

let's be honest, his characters only got good from a modern POV once they established that he was displaced from his original time period. that concept is inherently addressing America's change of identity and patriotism. every new Cap can take up those issues. (Wonder Women is definitely the more interesting Nazi puncher)
