FOOD!

Y'all! Y'all. I COOKED SOMETHING. You don't understand the monumental nature of this event. I think it was probably last November that I actually cooked something that didn't come from a box, can or jar, and in between there's been a shit ton of takeout (wait, wait...I made hamburgers once since then).

Today I made steak, sauteed fresh green beans with salt, pepper, and onion and garlic powders in the steak juices while it rested, and boiled red potatoes. The steak had to go back on the fire, and I ended up eating the green beans as an appetizer, because -- as you can imagine -- my timing and done-ness testing skills aren't exactly up to snuff.

But it was SO TASTY. Especially the beans, which I was most worried about. But they were so crisp and seasoned just right.

Hehehe. Yes, cooking can be part recipe, but a lot of the time it ends up being trial and error.

But congrats! It sounds like it was a delicious dinner.

You'll get better at timing with practice. Congratulations on cooking and hope you keep going! :)
