Question that I can't find an answer to on google because I am using the wrong words

(Anonymous) 2016-08-31 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Is it illegal to go between a pilot car and the vehicle is in escorting? Like when an 18 wheeler is hauling a wide load so it has a car in front and behind it? Because we got stuck behind one for 30 minutes today and there was plenty of room between the pilot car and the load to pass (if we went between the two). But we didn't know if it was illegal to do so.

No idea. No one else will know either, because the laws likely vary from country to country and you haven't identified yours.

Would depend on locality. I'd put your indicator on and keeping it on so they know you're doing a multi lane pass

I would assume so.

The pilot car is there to keep the oversize load driver and other drivers on the road around them safe. They are in contact with the load driver and stay far enough back to provide a buffer between them and traffic. Just behind the load is generally a huge blind spot for the load driver and very dangerous to drive in.
