Lots of people do. =/ (Not the OP, by the way.) I get a lot of "Real women have curves!" and "Men don't like skinny girls!" and "Just east a fucking cheeseburger, you look gross!" and stuff like that a lot. I get that larger women get a lot of shit for their size, but that doesn't mean they should put down smaller women. Being told you're not a real woman and that you look gross is never a pleasant thing.

I'm flat as a pancake and not even skinny enough for it to be the model kind of flat, so I do empathize to some degree, but I mean... It's a symptom of being female, the way I see it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, and I'd rather be skinny and pretty than the alternative.

I agree.

Basically, if you're a hot woman, you will have every your achievement written up as ultimately because of your looks. But plain women often get totally shut out of the opportunity to achieve anything at all. Both suck, but one sucks more.

Otoh, skinny =/= pretty, and there are plenty of skinny, flat-chested women who aren't conventionally pretty who get ostracized, insulted and shut out of things pretty often, too.

I generally get it more from women than from men, but I have had guys make remarks about me being too skinny or my boobs not being big enough.

When it comes to people I'm friendly with, I tend to get it more from women (though my guy friends do still make a lot of remarks about it, they're less offensive), but from strangers, I get it pretty much equally from both genders.

I get it more from guys than women, generally. The guys who are my long-time friends seem to think that my lack of breasts is fair game to joke about. They're at least up front about it, and intend it as a joke, even if it's not particularly funny. My female friends are more subtle, and a little more hurtful about it, really - they just take a lot of opportunities to say very obviously about how at least they have curves.

Here, here. I don't know that I'm all that "pretty" -- my face is pretty average -- but I'm skinny and flat-chested and I get tired of being asked if I'm annorexic/told I'm not a "real "woman"/etc. I've even had someone tell me that I would be hot "to a pedophile, maybe" because I guess flat chest = you look like a little girl!

I'm skinny and not flat-chested, and yet people still ask me if I'm anorexic.

Being a healthy weight for your size =/= anorexic.

The hot to a pedophile thing sucks balls, though.
