I remember sitting there in my little booster seat while Mom lectured me about why biting was a big deal.

Re: How old is your earliest memory?
I remember walking under the curtains in my room so that they'd cover my head and face, like a wedding veil. I'd seen 'Adventures in Babysitting' and was emulating Elizabeth Shue. A bookcase, filled with toys, was opposite the window, and it was the middle of the day, so there was a rectangle of sun on the floor.
It's significant to me because my parents hadn't bought most of the furniture for my room yet. I mean, there was stuff in there, but at some point they bought some kind of set, and I had it up until I was in college.

I also have a memory from age 2 which I would often recall as a small child and wonder if it had really happened or had been a dream. The memory is of me sitting in front of our apartment door. I looked at the door and it was closed. Then I looked at the door and it was open. Someone grabbed me from behind by my shoulders (the way you reach for a folder in a filing cabinet -- overhand pinch grip) and somehow carried me like that quickly into my bedroom and threw me on the bed. That's all I remember now, but this memory/dream terrified me to think about when I was kid.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-03 01:49 am (UTC)(link)... more disturbing is the fact that I don't recall being particularly upset over this dream.

That's it.
Re: How old is your earliest memory?
(Anonymous) 2016-09-03 11:17 am (UTC)(link)One... last day of my first year of school. I remember finding out that one of my classmates in particular was going to be in a different class from me the next year.
The other... watching Pokémon at my cousins' place. Or at least the opening.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-03 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)Also before I was 3:
I remember sticking the head of my teddy bear through a window and trying to push the window shut like a guillotine.
I remember the singing dolls in the It's a Small World ride at Disney Land.
Re: How old is your earliest memory?
(Anonymous) 2016-09-03 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)Apparently I had been stung by a bee right there the day before, and since I hadn't seen it I thought it was the flowers' fault.
