I'd had a couple of break ins while I was living there. I lived on the same level as a dealer, and junkies aren't real smart about where they steal from. My place was convenient. The lower level and the old office building next to it was a brothel. A few of the girls lived on my floor because the same guy owns the whole place, and they were nice. We all kept an eye on each other's rooms. I didn't know it but they'd already seen someone looking through a few windows and they told one of the guys downstairs about him. So at the same time I woke up, he was already coming upstairs to check. We ended up both getting to him as he was trying to get through the window.

It was dealt with and the cops weren't involved.
