- I thought Misfits was going to basically be a British Heroes without the screw up that Heroes went through. The first episode has one of the MCs learn everyone hates her - even her dog thinks she's a bitch. I forget what else bugged me, but it just came across as a little emo. (Although this may be unfair. I know the first season/series often isn't as good.)

- I'd heard how good Sixteen Candles was, and I thought it was the ultimate 80's teen rom com. Instead there're date rape jokes and everyone forgets the main character's birthday. Okay...

- I thought Girls was supposed to be... anything but an annoying white girl exemplifying everything people say about our generation. (You are not the voice of our generation. You are what Forbes keeps saying the voice of our generation is.)

I highly agree about Misfits. I thought the concept was cool, but the writing was poor.

The final two seasons in particular were utter drek. I know they had large cast changes in them, perhaps too large, but it were still drek over and above that.

If you're still interested in a Heroes done right, try Alphas. I have to warn you that the show ends at the season 2 finale on a huge cliffhanger, but season 1 was consistently great. (Season 2 is great, as well, but it's more serialized and there's that stupid cliffhanger, so if you don't want to deal with the agony of that, you can just watch season 1 and remain happy! :))

I second that. I really enjoyed what they did with the series, and I was bothered when it was canceled on that cliffhanger. I still watch it occasionally, though, as I have it on DVD.

Ugh, my friend and I are hate watching Girls together. We've finally caught up on all the episodes and we hate the show and all of the characters. They're such terrible friends to each other. After the first season, my friend and I looked at each other and said that if we did even half of the stuff the girls did to each other, we wouldn't still be friends.
