18- I may be misunderstanding but your whole secret seems to be about how what someone ships is based on pretty much everything in their life, and how that effect that they see things differently (Which I agree with to an extent). BUT why is that not something valid to judge someone on?

To take your sad movie example, if I don't want someone as a friend who's life has made them the kind of person who doesn't find, say, Titanic sad, where is the issue in that? If the end result is still a person you don't want to interact with, what does it matter? And if the coupling is really symbolic of all those things, wouldn't that just cement it more?

I never said it's stupid to judge somebody's friendship compatibility based on shipping/movie preference (though that can be contended), just that it's stupid to judge their intelligence based on it. Not finding Titanic sad doesn't mean that you're stupid, does it?
