31. Irk? I seriously hate it when I found out an actor I like is a Scientologist. Besides, it's not even a religion, but more like a cult. You can stop being a Christian/Jew/Muslim/Hindu/Buddhist/whatever and nobody would really give a shit, but stop being a Scientologist, you might as well stop breathing. Seriously, those fuckers will hunt you down if they have to.

Oh, and I never heard anything about Scientology being racist towards black people. I'm not deny it, I just never heard it before. More info, plz.

L. Ron Hubbard was unabashedly racist in many of his interviews and memoirs.

"Don't break your back scrubbing floors. Get yourself a nigger, that's what they were born for."

"Actually, have you ever noticed how a Negro, in particular, down south, where they're pretty close to the soil, personifies MEST*? The gatepost and the wagon and the whip and anything around there - a hat. They talk to them, you know? 'What'sa mattuh wi' you hat?' They imbue them with personality."

* Matter, Energy, Space and Time.

"They smell of all the baths they didn't take. The trouble with China is, there are too many chinks here."

"There are only two answers for the handling of [mentally and spiritually unhealthy people], neither one of which has anything to do with reasoning with them or listening to their justification of their acts. The first is to raise them on the Tone Scale by un-enturbulating some of their theta by any one of the three valid processes. The other is to dispose of them quietly and without sorrow."

Wow. That's terrible. When I think he couldn't get any worse. I truly think he was a worthless human bean. And that's a term I don't throw around often.

"They smell of all the baths they didn't take. The trouble with China is, there are too many chinks here."

What?!? That's the dumbest quote I've ever heard. I don't approve of calling Chinese people "chinks" but uh, duh, that's where they come from. That's like bitching about too many Mexicans in Mexico or too many British people in England.

Re: Wow, not alot of secrets today.

[identity profile] luxshine.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Not in defense of that awful excuse for a human being, but there's a joke in México, told by Mexicans, that God made Mexico the most pefect place on Earth. And then, so no one would get jealous and it would be as balanced as every other country, he filled it with Mexicans.

but then, we tend to be very self-depreciating at times.

(honestly, I can't believe anyone with half a working neuron can fall into the Scientology scam nowadays. the information is out there! Forget about the secret documents. There is info about the deaths. Hell, I knew about Lisa McPhearson's *before* I knew about Scientology as something else than 'a cult')

Scientology: a pyramid scheme disguised as a cult disguised as a religion.

And if you stop being a Muslim, the Koran has a few words about what to do about apostates (namely, off with their heads). That said, it's a lot nicer than what the Scilons do.

Re: Wow, not alot of secrets today.

[identity profile] phnix-daft-mode.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's disgusting.

And really? I never heard that about Islam but I'm not really surprised. I'm not dissing in Islam or anything, but like the bible, the Koran has some sketchy stuff in it. Still, Islam is alot better than Scientology, the main reason being that Islam is an actual religion

The Bible says women shouldn't speak in church, but all Christian churches I've ever been to have plenty of women speaking. I doubt the majortiy of Muslims are any more likely to cut your head off if you stop being Muslim than the majority of Christians are to say women should remain silent in church.

My best friend stopped being a Scientologist a few years back. They're still looking for her, especially when they found out she took antidepressants after she left.

That sucks. I'm sorry for you and your friend. A few years back, I attended this surfing camp and this girl was telling us about how her grandfather was a Scientologist and he eventually stopped. The thing is, in order to be safe, he had to ditch his house with everything intact, and never come back. You can joke about them all you want, but Scientologist are the wrong people to to mess with.

Re: Wow, not alot of secrets today.

[identity profile] lunarkitten.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
That's crazy, yet sad at the same time. Scientologists really are bad news when you mess with them. Luckily they don't have my friend's new address and she's been lurking under the radar, plus her father (who is still in the church) hasn't told them where she went.

"Religion" or not, I don't understand they can get away with their extortion methods.

Edited 'cause leaving whole words out doesn't work.
