I do something similar as anon, so what I assume they mean by that is when you hang your things up on hangers, put all the hangers in your closet backwards.

As you use your clothing, you put the hangers/clothes that you use in the closet in right way around. At the end of the month/season, you take a look at what is STILL hung up backwards and get rid of it, since you don't use it.

This picture (found on Google) shows what I mean. The backwards ones would be the ones you haven't used at the end of your month/season/length of time.

Ohh, I just put my stuff on the floor or just put them on hangars with no distinction lol
