I don't write for feedback, but I think it's useful for creators with less grit who could really thrive in a more encouraging environment. The only thing I want to stop is people complaining that the fic they want doesn't exist. Just about any other fandom activity is more worthwhile that that bullshit, and the only thing lower, really, is any call to stop writing or drawing. So congratulations, you helped me find something I hate worse than this secret.

I want to be clear here: I'm responding specifically to a specific person who seems extremely angry and unhappy about the reception their work gets, and the general system of writing and posting fanfic. I'm sorry if I was misreading that specific person. I'm not trying to make any general judgment about what is or isn't a "good" or "sufficient" reason to write or draw. All I am saying is that the specific person in question doesn't seem to be enjoying writing and is just angry and unhappy about it.
