Seriously though, why do people hate cords.

Because they get tangled, worn, the connector breaks, and sooner or later the headphones will start doing that only-playing-in-one-ear thing because there's a short in the part where the cord meets the plug. That's why I hate cords, at any rate. No pair of headphones ever lasted longer than a couple years until I bought a Bluetooth set.

I don't think I've ever had issues with cords, unless the product was so old it had to be replaced already. Good luck to you carrying around a tiny cordless headphone in your purse, because with all the stuff I have, that ain't happening for me.

It's worked fine for me so far, way easier than the wired kind. I hate purses so I only use one if I'm wearing something with no pockets (and I don't wear shit with non-functional pockets), and carry my BT earbuds in a neon pink pouch so even when I do have to use a purse, they're easy to find. And take out and put away since I don't have to fuck around with a cord.

Yeah same, my bluetooth headphones have lasted three times longer than any corded headphones I've had. The cords are the weak points, I guess.

They really are. Cords in general are made of cheap shit that does NOT stand up to wear and tear very well, and with Bluetooth set to become the connectivity standard (even cars have it now!), it's not a surprise that Apple's jumping ahead of the game.

That's kind of been Apple's thing since the iPhone first came out. They see where technology's going and force people to adopt it way sooner.

My asshole cat thinks they are fun to chew on.
