I couldn't make it through that first link. I've learned to beware of anyone who claims to be defending the individual against the overreaching group, but talks of individuals solely in the abstract. The individuals they claim to be protecting may not even exist in the form they describe, but the individuals they cause harm to almost certainly do. (See also: people who're against welfare programs because an abstract, theoretical individual would be harmed by welfare, and men who say they want to protect women but act as if women are a mythical creature on par with unicorns.)

Except the individuals being defended do exist in this case and are not some abstract concept being used as a political talking point? Look up "dysphoric lesbians" or "destransition stories" and you'll find plenty of such individuals.
