The Jam Pandas. It's a learning colours/learning to count book about pandas who make jam. Just super cute and I re-read it so many times as a kid.

The Special Unicorn by Margaret Holland. It is single-handedly responsible for my obsession with unicorns from age 4-10.

My obsession with unicorns came from the movie in your icon. I was 8, and found it my first video hire shop.

Each Peach Pear Plum was the first book I could "read" (and by that I mean I had it memorized by age 3). Chika Chika Boom Boom is still a classic.

As a preschool teacher who went to grad school for a MLS, I have to say that your age range is really broad for picking favorite books. Generally what appeals to a 2 year old won't appeal as much to a five year old. And vice versa.

It also depends on what the child is interested in. Like I love reading books to kids that have musical language. If the child likes trucks, then something like Truckery Rhymes will likely be a favorite based on my past classes. But if they prefer silly things, Dr. Seuss (with something like There's a Wocket in My Pocket) might be better. (Most tend to like Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now.

Mo Willems is a great author too. I love Knuffle Bunny and its first sequel, and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and the Piggy and Gerald books are generally well liked as well. Knuffle Bunny skews younger, and Piggy and Gerald skews older.

Pinkalicious tends to be liked as well. And Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See is classic with two year olds for a reason.

I honestly could go on and on. I love children's books. (And this was only picture books. By age 4-5, kids can generally listen to chapter books, and that is a whole additional set of awesome books.) I have no idea why you asked, but good luck with whatever it is.
