Sucks, but take it from me: Ya gotta let it go. Hanging on to that regret will do you no favors. Treat it as a learning moment and do your best to move on.

idk, I think it's weird to demand to "let go". it's not just your comment, but there's this idea that one can only be healthy when everything negative is purged. OP probably isn't dwelling on it everyday, how much more do they need to move on?

some regrets you just carry around with you. especially if it's tied to bigger issues, which I guess would be the case with their family.

I mean I agree with AYRT to a point but this is also a really good comment. If it isn't something you're agonizing over, it's ok to have regrets.
