I saw Michael Sittow's portrait of a young Catherine of Aragon in Vienna; I can never quite explain why I love it; I think there's something very human about it, unlike a lot of other portraits from the era.

I also saw John Singer Sargent's Madame X when I was little; that was the first time I saw it and I was obsessed. Again, I think I like it because it's a portrait but different from others of its period. (Also, I loved it so much that ten years later I bought my prom dress because it looked like her dress)

AYRT
Madame X is goooorgeous, I am so in love with her nose, which may or may not be a weird detail to obsess over.
