Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about the fight scene. I could watch it, but it wasn't super comfortable for me either; I agree with you that they could have rethought it... though probably what they were thinking of was that it saves on CGI and such, which makes sense, but our poor eyes.

See, I wouldn't say that it blew me away, or that I went nuts over it, but I just thought it was a really solid and enjoyable show. It's been a while since I've watched something that satisfied me like that.
