I agree on the brush strokes, and making things more alive. I always get lost staring at them too. Speaking of Starry Night Over the Rhone, I always find myself lost with paintings that have water and strong strokes; stormy sea paintings are the best for that. (or worst if you happen to be with me at the museum and want to get out)

I also get lost in paintings of water. I want to keep staring at them so I can absorb every brush stroke. It drives my friends nuts because they always want to quickly move on to the next painting.
