My school used to post everyone's semster GPAs in the main hallway. I hated it. They would also have an awards show with a raffle for everyone who had a 3.5 or higher, but only the 4.0 students got raffle tickets and boxes of snacks with their certificates while everyone else clapped for them. I'm sure the administration thought it was a great way to motivate us so we'd do better next year, but it always just made me feel crappy. I couldn't opt out of attending either, so I'd do my homework instead.
