I've been on tumblr doing fannish stuff for about 6 years and tbh I think that about 90% of the series I see tumblr squeeing about feature nearly-entirely-white casts. Granted most shows seem to have nearly-entirely-white casts (unless they're specifically created by/aimed at minorities), but given how tumblr almost seems to fetishize people of non-majority ethnicity (okay, let's be honest, non-majority skin color), it gets a little wearying at times to see people post long rants about lack of representation and/or racism in casting decisions, followed by like 4 pages of gifs of white actors.

This does not surprise me at all.

I wonder if it's that a lot of Tumblr just loves slashing white cock and are afraid that makes them seem -ist in various ways, or something. So they try to overcompensate.

yup, there's a whole lotta glass houses going on over there, and as DP said it's probably them feeling guilty so they try to make themselves look good by spitting on some white-dude ship or show that they happen to not like.

personally i think it's hilariously ironic.
