I don't mean romantic basis, I mean there's logic behind the ship? Since they've actually spoken to each other and have a history with each other? Hell, they've even been to prison together.

Matt/Hunk is like you've pulled two names out of a hat and decided to ship them. And I find it funny that you apparently feel really strongly about your headcanon gobbledygook ship, anon.

I think Hunk/Matt could be a cute ship, yes. It's a crack ship. But the ships itself is not what I feel strongly about. What I feel strongly and react about is someone calling me a dumb bitch for having a crack ship and/or questioning people's reasoning when they say Sheith is icky pedophilia but Shatt is super okay even though, at least to me, Matt appears to be as young as Keith.

As to why I actually don't like Shatt, I just... don't. It might be because to me, the ship comes across as people just desperately wanting someone with a dick to ship Shiro with. But it's probably just that it's not the kind of ship I enjoy.
