For me really that one no is it. I know in real life people change their minds all the time, but there's just so much out there pushing not to give up hope and that no doesn't always mean no forever that even though I know others are ok with it as long as it's handled well for me it's just too big a squick to get past.

Like in the scene in Winter Soldier where he asks Sharon out and she turns him down gently and he respects that and backs off... there was commentary on how that was put in to show how awkward and bad he was with women! So that once he learned to be more confident and persistent she'd go out with him. That made me NOPENOPENOPE away from that pairing too.

I wish more handled it like Gravity Falls where a no actually means no and you shouldn't hold out hope and you can't 'earn' her changing her mind. (And especially not 'see I respected your no I'm a nice guy you should reward me with sex' )
