Cheese!

What is your favorite kind of cheese? What is your favorite food with cheese in it?

I only have a least favorite kind of cheese, and that is processed cheese (or American cheese, as it is often called). I almost always wind up picking it off and throwing it away.

Fondue is one of my personal favorite cheese applications, but heck, just eating a good piece of cheese with a bread/pickle/vegetable accompaniment is also my idea of heaven.

not surprising, with the usual amount of whine you put out

I love pepper jack so much. And homemade macaroni and cheese is the ultimate use of cheese.

Cheese is one of my favorite foods. I have gluten allergy and it's always been one of my safe foods. I eat 1-3 cheese sticks a days. Otherwise I love a good cheese and bean enchilada or chili.

I'm not a fan of american cheese or mozzerella.

Feta cheese and Gouda. So good.

Camembert/brie.

Sliced thinly and eaten on nice crackers, maybe with a little dried fruit.

I'm not big into basically any other cheese. I have expensive tastes I guess.

Chevre, muenster, havarti, gouda, provolone, blue, gorgonzola, mascarpone, parmesan, that cheddar with bacon bits in it, random artisinal stuff... I love cheese.

But not swiss. I HATE swiss cheese.

My favorites are a tie between fresh mozerella balls and aged sharp cheddar, and if I wouldn't die of heart failure I'd eat grilled cheese sandwiches every day.

Cheddar, camembert, bocconcini, mozerella. I like processed cheese for some things. Halloumi was interesting when I tried it.

But I don't like swiss cheese because it has an odd almost sweet taste to it that, to my cheddar-influenced tastebuds, doesn't taste like cheese.

I tried a small taste-test piece of blue cheese at Ikea last time I was there (and bought the meatball meal package), and now I am curious as to whether I have grown to a point where I can appreciate blue cheese.

Also, Food with cheese in:

MacDonalds cheeseburgers - had one last week because I got a voucher for a cheeseburger and small fries for $2.

Toasted cheese sandwiches - not made the way American grilled cheese sandwiches are made, I put my toasted sandwiches under the oven grill. I also love toasted tomato sandwiches.

Related to that, cheese jaffles - a jaffle iron is a type of sandwich press that presses the edges together to seal them into a bread-pod. Jaffles can contain any filling, but my favourites are cheese and egg.

Old favourite: Cheese On Toast. Toast a couple of slices of bread, butter them, then spread tomato sauce or tomato paste on them, then cover with cheese - sliced or grated - and put under the oven grill until melted and showing brown spots. Eat while hot. This was a common favourite breakfast of mine, preferably with tomato paste and grated cheddar.

Cream cheese icing - maybe because on the whole scale of cake frosting, cream cheese tends to be a bit milder, but I also just like the cream cheese taste. Best cake to have it on: Carrot.

Gruyère. I make a great mac and cheese with gruyère and apple wood bacon.

I love brie. My friend and I will sometimes have cheese and crackers while watching Supernatural (a little cheese with our cheese) and no matter what, I always make sure we have some brie, and I usually eat at least half of it.

My favorite cheesy foods are pizza, and grilled cheese sandwiches. But not any grilled cheese; huge slices of french bread with cheddar and jack grated together.

Roquefort cheese, it just has that perfect balance of sweet and salt for me, and served in very small amounts on very thin plain Scottish oatcakes. The Telegraph claims it has health giving properties, but the Telegraph is generally full of shit though. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/9749949/The-secret-to-why-the-French-live-longer-Roquefort-cheese.html
