It's funny because I really have gotten the sense that Who fandom despises those three.

Every time there's a F!S about these three, it seems like Who fandom despises them, but everyone I know in real life wets their pants over them. And I think the people I know in real life are more representative of people who watch the show.

I would surrender bodily organs to never have to see those assholes again. They were a one-joke group, and after that one scene they ought to have been left to molder in the archives. I really resent we kept getting them, and also kept getting comedy UNIT too. So many better stories could have been told and characters used.

Some people REALLY hate them. I'm not sure why they seem to have such a Marmite effect - personally I could take or leave them.

I had an ex-friend who was obsessed with those three, but mostly for Jenny and Vastra. Kept shoving them in my face every chance he got and was obnoxious and creepy about the whole thing, too. If I never have to see them again, it'll be too soon.

I've only seen hate of them from people who hate Moffat in general. Most fans I've seen like them.

I used to like Moffat, but even when I did I still hated these guys. Strax marginally less so. In hindsight Vastra and whoever were really the first signs of his pandering to the SJW unpleasable critics. He should have stopped trying to appease the unappeasable and left them an all his other mary sues in the trash can.
