(Anonymous) 2016-09-12 02:06 am (UTC)(link)Like I said, it's possible that I'm forgetting something about his involvement...but I'm preeeeetty sure he wasn't crucial to the storyline.
Plus, there were a TON of characters involved in the Civil War storyline that weren't in the movie so they totally could have left out spider-man if they wanted to. Hell, I think the Punisher probably played a bigger role than spider-man in the comic version since he more or less pushed Cap into the realization that his side was wrong (which I don't agree with tbh because just about everything prior to that seemed like it was leading the reader to agree with Cap), but the movie was just fine without him
