People complain so much about F!S but honestly this is a much better place to do fandom than Tumblr right now, if you ask me. I don't need to be super involved, though, so that helps.

I don't know if I agree about FS, but in all honesty, anything is going to be better than Tumblr for fandom.

Say what one will about LJ, but I think it was a better place to do fandom simply because of the community and friendslock features. With those you could easily ignore the bullshit more than you could on Tumblr.
