It's weird, people freak out about Taylor Swift and I just don't get what they're so mad about. Aren't all of Adele's songs about breakups too? Nobody gives her shit about it.

There's actually a pretty nasty narrative out there about Adele, too, though it swings more "creepy stalker bitch" than "dumb manipulative bitch". It's just not as loud because she's not part of the young, popular female demographic that some people really, really like to shit on. Easier targets, I guess.

Adele is frequently called a crazy stalker. But that's neither here nor there. The difference is is that Adele never made who she is writing about obvious. We know it's that one ex she writes about. But we know nothing about how, why, who or what went wrong with the relationship. Adele is also self aware enough to acknowledge that she played a role in why the relationships went wrong.

Taylor? Barely ever. We know what goes on with her because she is public and open about it and controls her narrative the minute things start going bad while the other member of the relationship keeps mum. Look at this whole shitstorm that is Hiddleswift. It backfired embarrassingly bad and her PR is trying to make her look like a victim. Calvin Harris and Joe Jonas are the only two of her exs that had the balls to clap back at her and point out that not everything she's selling is true. Shit, her "feud" with Katy Perry is the epitome of pettiness and shows how calculated she is. It's just not genuine. She's a hell of a manufactured businesses woman and I respect that. But I don't buy her woe is me narrative when she makes sure to fight with people the public would NEVER side with to begin with.

In fairness iirc Katy did actually start the unpleasantness between them by trying to hire away some of Taylor's backup dancers at a time when it would have super inconvenienced her. But I am pretty sure Taylor is the one keeping the flames going now.

Except that's not Katy's fault? the story straight from the horse's mouth is that taylor wasn't using them, they had a two weeks notice clause, gave their two weeks notice that Taylor's team never worked out with Taylor herself and left contractually legal and all.

If taytay wants to blame anyone she should blame her own team for not giving her the full details and if her dancers decide to ditch that's THEIR fault. Not Katy. it's not like she had a gun to their head and hey, that's business. birds gotta fly, fish gotta eat.

But really, we all know it's about John Meyer and she's just painting this business narrative.

lol, that's amazing. The version I heard actually supposedly came from Taylor's people, so it's not surprising that she painted herself as the poor betrayed victim as usual. Tbh were I a backup dancer I would probably rather work with katy than Taylor. Katy supposedly is a nice person to work with and Taytay has a rep for being a bit catty.

i don't wish that white supremecist on anyone and i wouldn't doubt he abused her tbh. but rly the basis of their feud is Mayer dating Katy after dumping taytay no matter how hard she tries to push the SHE STOLE MY DANCERS (that i wasn't really using and they left in a completely legal manner oops) DURING MY CONCERT story.
