Rare Pairs

What are some of your rare pairs that as far as you know, less than five people ship. So, no more than 5 fics of that kind on Ao3 or FF.net (since other fandom places are usually too hard to look through).

What is your oddest rare pair?

Do you have any rare pairs that are OT3s or more?

Rytlock Brimstone/Torga Desertgrave. Name me someone in the Guild Wars 2 fandom that ships that and I will give them a whole box of cookies for shipping my Blood-and-Ash rarepair.

Also TFP Smokescreen/RID2015 Strongarm. And Filch/Zizza. And Filch/Steeljaw. (Literally, I've seen more art and even fic of Filch/Bumblebee and that's my NOTP.)

Ohhh man, I have a bunch. Barring crossover ships, because that would make it way too easy, a few of my favorites:

Maya Fey/Apollo Justice (Ace Attorney)
Karin Kurosaki/Snake (Bleach)
Makoto Naegi/Sakura Oogami/Aoi Asahina (Dangan Ronpa)
Shikamaru Nara/Hinata Hyuuga (Naruto)
Whitney/Bugsy (Pokémon)

Karin/Snake is probably the rarest of my pairs, given that one's a tertiary character, one's a filler character, and they had all of one episode together. but they were cute ;A;

Giles/Cordelia
There are actually 15 fics on Ao3 but that's out of over 23k+ in the fandom, so yeah. Not exactly going to beat Spike/Buffy in a popularity contest.
I just love how snarky they are and how painfully blunt Cordelia is during the time Giles knows her. Adding in her character development from ATS and his parallel storyline, there's so much potential there.

I ship Martin Creiff/Tony Stark because of one series on Ao3.

Also, I ship Ava/Boyd/Tim because of two fics on Ao3. These fics don't have them in a pairing but it is an AU where Tim is a criminal taken in by Ava (and Boyd). So my brain was like, "Would it not be awesome for those three in this AU to hook up???" And that was all it took.

Anveena/Kalec. I fell in love with that pairing via the Sunwell triogy manga.
Jorad Mace/Tyri. Because, damn it, they're cute.

From Mutant League:
Bones/Sherry - there's only like one fic series on AO3 that has that pairing. There's blessed little for this fandom.

From Monster Force:
Luke Talbot/Shelly Frank. Just give me fic, please! I can't find anything anywhere!

Hello fellow Kalec/Anveena shipper, and that manga was my downfall into shipper hell with them too, gah.

I recall liking Jorad/Tyri too and as far as I know they're still hanging out in Netherstorm?? (Don't tell me if this is false these days, let one of these couples be happy~).

(I'm not sure if they're still a couple, but supposedly Jorad's over in the Sanctum of Light [the pally's Class Hall]. I haven't taken my pally out in a while, I'm more active with my monk and fuck the Mistweaver artifact weapon class. So painful..)

I run into them on occasion. Sometimes they are literally the only person writing a pairing, but there will be like twenty or more fics.

I am actually logging in for this because...well if anyone checks the tags on AO3 my name would come up as the only author anyway.

I am hardcore up in Ideo and Bluegilly from One Piece. Side characters, probably won't see them again for another 300 chapters, Ideo arguably has more characterization because he's a fleet commander now, but I kind of love them to bits.

Andie/Steff from Pretty In Pink. Last time I checked there was only about three fics on AO3. Such a pity, I love that pairing so much.

Pretty sure I'm the only one who ships Captain Gloval/Admiral Hayes from Robotech. At least, I've never seen any stories pairing them that weren't by me.

Jade/Nephry from Tales of the Abyss.

Which blows my mind because it's not the incest thing (Van/Tear is relatively popular, and Asch/Luke is HUGE if you consider it as such), but it is completely nonexistent. It breaks my heart. There's so much to work with!

Boromir/Kili. It was based on a fic that had a friendship between those two. The other shipper is the person who wrote the fic series. I know at least one person in the comments to the last fic said somethign about wanting them to kiss, but other than that passing comment, I think Valandhir and I are the only shippers of it.

Bonus ships from the same source: Thorin/Fili and Celebrimbor/Durin III. The latter is kinda tricky too because there is a background factor that the Durins really are reincarnations, so Kili has some awkward feelings around Celebrimbor, and Boromir some minor jealousy.

Original Magnificent Seven: Britt/any male character. Less than 5 fanfics in the whole fandom, let alone any slash.

And a real blast from my fandom past: Havemercy - Rook/Ivory.

Another really old one: (slashy incest, oh my) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Robin/Will

A main problem for me is also that I ship for shows, games or series that don't actually have an active fandom.

Oh, I love Britt/Lee. Britt is awesome (although Lee is my bicycle).

I also shipped Robin/Will! I remember looking for fic way back when and not really finding anything.

I actually wouldn't be picky about who to ship Britt with if it meant there'd at least be something but Lee/Britt sounds definitely nice.

There were maybe 2 or 3 Robin/Will fics and it still makes me sad :(

Bruce/Rick from Agents of SMASH. I'm half tempted to write some myself, they had great chemistry in the first episode and I really wanted to read some "We've been dating but it was too dangerous to get physical but now I'm A-Bomb and we can have sex! Finally!"

I half-ship Karkat/Clover in Homestuck.
Only half-ship because I've literally never seen shipfic for them, and canon doesn't have enough to base an actual ship on for my preference. (They only had one brief scene together, in a long animation, after the last page of dialogue in the entire comic.)
Last I checked, AO3 only had eight fics that even just had the two of them in the same story.

And pretty much all the f/f pairs I've ever had more than a passing interest in are rarepairs.
