Erm. The Nutcracker has been choreographed many times over the years, by many a notable choreographer and for a diverse range of companies.

THAT ASIDE, you really are missing out on something wonderful - not just because it's an excellent anime in it's own right, but because it's a tribute to ballet itself. Princess Tutu is full of wonderfully informed decisions. From the choice of background music in each scene, to the stories that are carefully interwoven into the original plot, to the "choreography" of the characters when they dance, it's completely obvious that this is one production team that did its homework.

Hee. 13 years, here. Give or take a year because by the end I was really struggling to make time for both dance classes every night of the week and academics. ( And then academics won >: )

I hope you like! Watch at least a few episodes, the first can feel a little like a standard Magical Girl setup when the story is not that at all.

Word. I think the OP should have a lot of trouble sitting through most ballets these days, if they have such problems with this.

That said, I haven't seen the anime in question, but now think I need to. So thanks, OP! :D
