you've just read me like a book....

you have no idea how much it means to hear that you understand. On the one hand I feel horrible that there are other people who have the same problem, but even the fact that a few people get it makes me want to weep, it's because of that tiny comfort that i'm not alone...

I hate that I hurt people, especially close people, but... i still don't want to be tossed aside when i'm no longer convenient.

I try to be a good friend, but sometimes, i lash out, wither verbally or physically. Usually physically.

I wouldn't be my friend either....

I hate typing this out... i must sound like a moron, or some emo-child crying over split milk...

but i don't know anymore... I can't even post a FS without getting attacked for it - how am i suppose to go up to someone in RL?

STOP HITTING PEOPLE. You DO sound like a moron. You're not getting tossed aside for being "no longer convenient", you're getting tossed aside for LASHING OUT PHYSICALLY. What the fuck is wrong with you? Stop doing that. Seriously.
What, besides physical abuse, do you bring to the table in a friendship?

i can't speak for her/him - but as some one who grew up getting the crap beaten out of them but my old man - i think i understand what their saying.

Abuse begets abuse. when you grow up being hit - it's the only thing you learn. Most abuse victims grow up to either BE the abuser, or end up married to one.

It took me YEARS to re-learn how to interact with people. And honestly, most of the time, i'm just mimicking others around me - i usually have no idea what's socially acceptable.

I'm posting my name, because I know that a lot of people don't get it - and If you need to talk - i'm at least really good at listening.

Oh, I get that. I do! But you're someone who's recognized the problem and taken it upon themselves to improve. Actually, I think mimicking others until you learn proper social interaction is totally legitimate. I'm taking umbrage with the OP because they recognize the problem but refuse to take ownership of it the way you apparently have... they seem to think (from what I can tell) that they shouldn't have to try to stop being abusive and that if their friends "truly loved them" they'd put up with the abuse, and that attitude really, really skeeves me out.

Actually, I think they're while they are asking that the friends they have don't leave - more importantly, they're asking them to not let them get away with that behavior.

That's my guess, because I have had to ask the same in the past. I recognized that i had a problem, but didn't know HOW to fix it. I've been struggling with that since I was 14. And luckily, i had a single friend who listened to what i wasn't saying enough to figure it out, and help. And help me find other people who can help me.
