What are you talking about. How are you seriously conflating a dumb 'nerds v cool kids' narrative with a dumb anti-Tumblr narrative. Do you think the people you're complaining about aren't social outcasts? Do you think there weren't furries and otherkin on the Internet before 2008? Do you generally have any idea what you're talking about?

"Back in my day...people on the internet were BETTER!"

Nope, they don't. It's nonsensical STOOPID SJW TUMBLRRRR misogynist bullshit. The anus of Reddit continues to leak into this community.

I'm curious as to how it's specifically misogynist

Do you? Because you sound very new

Back in the day the average profile was: fandom, OTPS, hobbies, etc.
Nowadays is: what’s wrong with me (their words, not mine), do NOT follow if

But keep telling yourself that Tumblr-based fandom isn't full of special snowflakes. "W-We aren't that bad guys!!". Sure.

And the long trigger list.

LJ and Myspace were exactly like this. So were message boards and yahoo groups and listservs before that. :/

LJ wasn't. I was on LJ from about 2004 or so until the fandom migration to DW and I don't remember people putting that kind of stuff in their profiles. It was what ayrt said: fandoms, OTPs, interests, etc.
