On that note, something odd I've noticed is that fans complain all the time about how the show never gives Reid any happy storylines, and they're all, "Why can't something GOOD happen to him for once? Why can't he find a nice girl and settle down?"

But then I'll read fanfic...and I swear some of the stuff some of those same fans who make the above complaints put him through in stories makes what he goes through on the show seem pretty tame by comparison. They whump the HELL out of him in fanfic, and those kinds of stories wind up being really popular and having lots of readers. And any stories involving him in a romance with an OC, they often put her in the same kind of danger the women Reid's had brief flirtations on the show have been through.

It just strikes me rather funny and strange.
