That's overstating it a little

I feel like the only 80s movie of his that I would really expect someone to have watched post-80s is Stand By Me. And he's not even one of the most important actors in that, Wil Wheaton and River Phoenix are.

Lost Boys and Goonies are interesting but they're on a wayyyyy different level than Stand By Me.

I have, but either not where he's in them or I didn't recognize him.

He's not in that many movies from the 1980's, really.

You're technically correct, but he was in Goonies, Stand By Me, Gremlins, The Lost Boys, The Burbs and a handful of Friday the 13th sequels. Someone who watches 80s movies has probably seen at least one of these.

I still feel bad for Amanda Bines because it seemed, unlike some of the others (cough:Lindsey Lohan:), she has actual mental health issues including schizophrenia. I remember loving the Amanda show, and I'm sad I can't find copies of it anymore.

Selena Gomez also because I loved Wizards of Waverly place even though I was far out of the age range when it started.

Yeah I feel for Amanda, and allegedly she's not currently taking her meds like she's supposed to so who knows how bad it's gonna get :/

I really liked Thora Birch. I read an interview she did for the Guardian a couple of years ago and she sounded really bitter about the way her career ended up.

Remember when she was more popular/sought after than ScarJo?

I loved her in American Beauty... did the interview say why her career ended up the way it did?

If you read up on other interviews/articles about Thora Birch, a lot of them point the finger at her crazy father and his behavior on set and the demands he would make.

I don't know how much to believe but as a kid I loved the movie "Now and Then" so it's been interesting to see the career trajectory of the actors.

Mae Whitman was a favorite of mine. I was obsessed with State of Grace when it was on.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I heard he became fundie and joined the stupid side of Christianity though. Pity, he was a cutie.

Also Erik Per Sullivan, the guy who played Dewey on Malcolm in the Middle. I wish him luck in his endeavors.

I met Erik once! He's really intelligent and seems to be leading a happy life.

That's good! Dewey was on of my favorite characters on the show in the later seasons, so I'm glad for him.
