First world problem: I'm currently staying with a friend. There's no air conditioning in the house. We're in Los Angeles.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-20 01:35 am (UTC)(link)He brought some fabric up to be cut, and we were talking about what he was making (a play tee-pee for his son), when he embarrassedly noted the free pattern he'd picked up made mention of our kids' sewing classes, advertised as "perfect for Mom, too!" That he wanted to sign his son up, but wasn't sure if he'd be welcome to come with him, as he was not Mom (Mom, in this case, is nowhere even close to the picture). I'd never even paid any attention to the ad. It's so needlessly alienating-- our clientele is honestly almost 50/50 men and women. I just feel so awful over the whole thing, even though it's not something I have any control over.
