Can I say using a computer?

I hate touchscreens - why the fuck would you need one on a laptop? I hate touchpads if my wrist bumps into them. I hate the updated user interface in Windows 8 (though 10 fixed that a little) - I don't want a "start screen", I want a start bar, that is neatly organized. Even Windows 10's start bar, I downloaded a third party program to make it look more like the classic start bar.

Seriously, I feel like an old granny when I get a new computer and instantly disable/change all the features, but I am not convinced the changes have made navigating any easier or any faster.

God yes, I don't get touchscreens or why anyone would need or want them on a laptop. Also, I do not understand this weird push away from laptops towards tablets in general. It's so impractical for writing/typing/communicating. No, I do not want a tablet with a weird detachable keyboard that I can't use on my lap. UGH. And I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and switch to Mac because Windows has become complete bullshit.

Oh exactly this. As someone who writes a lot, I value a semi-functional keyboard, not a tablet with a thin-as-fuck sorta keyboard. And it is so much more effort to lift my hand and move the screen than it is to use a mouse. I don't care about tablets at all - besides maybe a few touch-screen relevant games, I don't see the point, everything I want to do on a computer - which is a lot! - is better on a proper laptop. Or even (gasp) a desktop.

Yes yes yes yes yes TO ALL OF THIS.

Continuing on that, I've got a laptop, and yet I still have an actual computer mouse that I use, because I don't like using the thing that's built into the laptop to scroll or click on things.

I used to have real problems bumping the touchpad on my work laptop and there was no way to disable it until I did a lot of Googling and found I could download a new driver that let me turn it off.

Word to that! I have a tablet I don't use much because I am not fond of touchscreens and virtual keyboards.

I also hate touchpad mice. I want that nice lump of tech I move around a flat surface, not some patch of plastic that always seems terribly awkward in how it reacts, at least for me.

That is also part of the reason I have never got a smartphone, the other being that even on my cheap non-smart phone I only ever use four or five functions in total - phone and phonebook, calculator, alarm clock, music player, text messaging - and maybe once in a while the camera, but if I want Good photos I have to use my tablet.
The other reason I don't want a smartphone is the cost of phone plans for them.
