This isn't your fault, but whenever someone says "I like Asian food" it makes me chuckle because nobody ever says "I like European food" and that makes about as much sense. Except that of course, European countries are more easily recognized to have very different cultures and cuisines but Asian countries all get lumped together even though it's the largest continent on the planet.

Personally, I actually like Asian food as in: I really love the cuisines of a lot of different Asian countries, from Indian over Thai to Chinese, Korean and Japanese. There are huge differences, but I generally like most of them a lot.

Well, I actually specifically said it cause that sort of satay is Indonesian, and the duck is Chinese, so I'd never actually have it in the same meal in a restaurant.

And, Asian cuisine does have more in common with each other than with European cuisine, in the sense that regions have different taste preferences. I might not say I like "European cuisine", but I'd certainly say I like "Eastern European cuisine" even those are different countries with differences in cuisine, but close enough to make a generalization.

And while say, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and Thai have significant differences, I's still prefer those over most European dishes.

Nice job getting out of that one. *high fives you*

(Though I have seen satay in the appetizer section of some Chinese restaurants. It's not that uncommon.)
