Because non-canon pairings can't ever happen!
I know they can happen, that´s why it´s called fanfiction. Believe me, as a slasher I know what I´m talking about.
But I just don´t see the "slash potential that is off the charts". For me there´s no subtext at all. They are just a normal group of friends. *shrugs*
If the OP wants so slash them, good for her, whatever floats her boat.
