Idk why ppl keep telling me when they see or run into ex friend :( I don't want to know and I don't want to fret or think about them or get all paranoid on how they are ! Let me stop being friends without reminder :(

Put the on the spot and ask them why they thought they should tell you about it. Then nod and say, "Okay, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't pass on any updates about this person in the future. We're no longer friends and I'm trying to deal with that the best way I can. You can help me out a lot by not mentioning them to me ever."

If they mention it again, remind them. "Hey, remember how I said I didn't really want any updates about this person? Please respect that."

And if they keep going, end the conversation politely and go, and start ghosting them if they won't knock that shit off.
