If that actually happened I would start watching again and cackle gleefully. That's how it originally should have ended anyway back in S5. Cas is gone, Sam is up to interpretation, Dean stays with Lisa, the end.

Wait I just described like half of the season finales, didn't I?

(There was some entertaining wank after the most recent finale, with some Destiel fans being upset that Castiel was "Bro Zoned" by Dean.)

I like dean/lisa but at this point, I don't really want either of the boys to settle down in the series finale. I'd rather they go out in a blaze of glory or something

Eh. Those who ship het *love* Lisa/Dean, and even though I'm a Wincest girl, I'm all for it, as well. The hysterical fringe is not, actually, the entire fandom.

Eh, I'm a het shipper and I don't care for Dean/Lisa at all. Dean/Cassie, Dean/Donna, Dean/Nancy, Dean/Jo, Dean/Amara, but not Dean/Lisa.

Destiel shipper here, who also loves the hell out of Lisa/Dean. If Lisa/Dean was end game in canon, I would be happy, especially if they undo the idiocy of the mindwipe.

As you say, the hysterical fringe of the ship war is just a fringe, not the whole fandom.

Right? I get that Dean really did think that was for the best, but I wish the writers had not gone there. It was just...really sucky.

(And the hysterical fringe just makes me angry, because it makes people not want to participate, not want to join the fun, not want to explore, and that sucks.)

Yeah, I also hate how people use that to demonize Dean even more (you know, people here = that hysterical fringe) by claiming he did that out of evil intent becuase he just loves to force people ot do what he wants. and I'm like... that's on the writers. They wrote the situation in such a way in which it was the only possible option just because they wanted her out of the story. And well, at the very least they didn't kill her and Ben.

The problem with the fandom is that because the hysterical fringe is so loud, people thinks it's ALL the fandom. And man, they are relentlessless. I have had terrible experiences with one side, but I know both sides have their share of crazies. And I just wish people stopped letting them be the representatives of all fandom.

Yis. The people (HF) who see only bad in Sam or Dean really just get on my nerves.

I haven't had anything too bad go on in my own fandom bubble, but i've definitely had conversations with people who couldn't see past the HF to just...be okay with the fandom in general. It's a bummer.

I think Dean genuinely thought it was the best. But I don't see how it would keep them safe. Them not knowing about the supernatural won't save them from it, in fact, now they won't even know how to take simple steps to keep them safe (salt, holy water etc.)

So it was a big head scratching moment for me.

It's extremely ridiculous (and mean) of me considering I've never watched a single episode and am not myself in the fandom, but I would love for this to happen just because I find SPN fanwank incredibly entertaining for some reason

Dean and Lisa make sense, if they close Hell and all and Dean can retire (if he can't, then him settling down with a non-hunter doesn't work for me.)

I'd like Sam to end up with Eileen, the deaf hunter. She's so cute.

But also, Dean and Sam dying and Castiel at their grave would be good. Or them up in heaven at Ash's place with Bobby, or maybe Sam becomes a lawyer, Dean becomes old-ass grizzled nu-Bobby.

I want Castiel to end up human, since he put up with too much shit as an angel and has too many feelings to be one anyway.

Sam got hitched in Vegas in season 7. Dean getting married there in season 14 would be coming full circle, I guess?
