"abuse supporters"

I hate Klancers so much. Enjoying "abusive" relationships in media =/= supporting abuse.

Guess I'm a murder supporter (CSI, CM, lots of video games, etc.) and a drug abuse supporter (House) beastiality supporter (Zootopia, Disney's Robin Hood) animal abuse supporter (HTTYD) and cannibalism supporter (Hannibal) I'm sure I can think of a few more horrible things I support. Oh! Genocide supporter too (GotG)

Seriously, this. Writing about dark topics/relationships in iction =/= supporting and endorsing them in reality. Some people do have a hard time telling the difference, yes, but for the most part, most fanfic writers just want to write a freaking story and leave it at that.

I mostly agree with your sentiment, but that's... not what bestiality means.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-25 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't know. Maybe they're trying to create their own anthropomorphic foxes from scratch.

AYRT I figure if half the stuff fandom considers abuse nowadays counts, the idea of fictional animals being able to talk and consent when RL animals can't probably counts as Problematic too.

There's no "probably" about it.
I ship a human with an anthro animal (portrayed as able to communicate and consent and hold down a job and such), and I've seen people call the ship (this specific ship) "problematic" and "beastiality" because the animal's not a human.

...Not quite the same as the works you mentioned (human/animal rather than animal/animal), but it's similar I think.

every single person on fandom secrets thinks this

isn't there some point where we can stop needing to grind this particular ax

(Anonymous) 2016-09-25 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, the point is when people will stop harassing others on perceived "abusive ships" that aren't abusive.

"Abuse supporter" is not at all a Klancer phrase. I'm not in that fandom and people in my fandoms call each other abuse supporters constantly.

Not in the fandom but isn't this a thing in in general fandoms, though? Enjoying something that might be perceived as "not healthy" wll get constant call-out posts from people who will make huge posts (and huge deals) on how to correctly ship something.

Klance(?) fandom is just the newest one where people do this.
