ugh yes, her characterization in a lot of fics is a real turn-off. it's kind of like how a bunch of people still characterize thor as this dumb guy who SHOUTS ALL THE TIME. or how some people write steve as a shy stick in the mud even though he's a pretty confrontational smartass. it's like some people just don't pay attention to the characters

Those characterizations only work in fanworks that are supposed to be intentionally silly and OTT. In any work that is supposed to be even remotely serious they just throw my fangirl groove right off, like that old man who bumped into Kuzco in Emperor's new Groove.
