because every single time this comes up wrt casting, the response is "we're learning!" or "we'll do better next time!" and guess what? the next time it happens it's "we're learning!" and "we'll do better next time!" if you care enough about trans people to try and make a sympathetic movie, you should at least have educated yourself on the basics & how trans people feel about media representation BEFORE you started making the movie. the response itself is not the problem, it's that it's the ONLY response trans people ever get to legitimate grievances.
