Does fandom still call this whump? It used to be a thing, back in the day.
Class A Whumper.

There are definitely still a fair number of people who call it "whump" but I've noticed a sharp decline in the usage of it over the past several years and I very rarely see young fans (by this, I mean people under 20) use the term. I mean, there's still an enormous amount of whump fanfic written of course, but I don't see most people actually referring to it as such. Usually, people will just tag and refer to their fics as "hurt![character name]" these days.

I do follow some tumblrs dedicated to whump though, including nothingbutthewhump.tumblr.com/ (a blog run by a very dedicated person who combs through tv shows and posts videos that solely contain all of the whump scenes from certain episodes. unfortuantely, their videos were taken off of vimeo a few days ago, but they are working to host them somewhere else) and whumpersunited.tumblr.com/
