One of my friends has started acting very different to flat out ignoring me and I'm super-confused and hoping that it's not something I did and if it's another week and she's still acting this way I am going to ask her about it. But I'm also really pissed because this all started when she got a new boyfriend and she acts like bitch when she's around him and is flat-out rude. Like, will not look at you when you ask her a question, acts like she wishes everyone else were gone, either does not hear or ignores you when you say goodbye. AND THEN, we met the fiance of a friend for the first time last week (he's in the military and not based near us/our friend he's engaged to) and she said maybe two sentences to him and spent the rest of the time ignoring everyone to cuddle with her boyfriend. It's SO FUCKING RUDE and I want to scream at her.

What does her boyfriend seem like? I'm a little concerned for your friend that he's making her (at least by some measure) behave this way towards people.

I don't think it's anything he's doing - he's lovely and will be the one who has a conversation with me when I've tried to talk to both of them while she barnacles onto him. And unfortunately, I know that this is a pattern and she's just one of those people who turns into a different person when she starts dating someone new (see also: that time she brought her ex uninvited to a craft fair and then the two ignored me the whole time). It's just way more intense in the rudeness this time and happens sometimes when he's not there.

(My conspiracy theory that I wonder if she's uncomfortable because a year ago I mentioned that I thought her current bf was cute and had a mild crush on him? I never pursued it because it was more a "Oh, he's pretty to look at" crush than "yes I want to date this person" and I told her that and was super-enthusiastic when she told me they were dating, but I wonder if since she's already prone to being very boyfriend-centric when she's dating someone new if she isn't reading more into me having thought he was cute?)

AYRT - Ah, that makes sense. And yeah, maybe she is reading too much into it. :/
