Then I apologize--I think you misread my tone there.

Most stories don't really talk about this stuff because it isn't really that interesting. It's only interesting if it's saying something about the characters. That's why I mention the bathroom--you'd only write about your character using the bathroom if it reveals something about that character. Otherwise it isn't interesting enough to include for most authors.

There's a danger in being so invested in realism that you end up messing up the flow of your story. Does that make sense? I'm not criticizing you for wanting details, just saying they might not be necessary.
