Why, what did he do?

Oh, honestly, nothing terrible. He was one of those folks who cancelled concerts in NC due to that stupid anti-LGBT law passed by the idiot governor. I'm not against him being opposed to the law, or questioning whether or not he should do business in a state that passes such a law, because it is a stupid piece of shit discriminatory law. And unlike other artists, he was courteous and cancelled months in advance instead of the weekend of (though I should point out other artists found constructive ways of protesting without cancelling).

But the thing that got on my tits was when he said "I'm sorry to disappoint my fans..." Wait... whose fans? In case I fell asleep, I'm pretty sure was traveling with like five or six other famous dudes who had also fans looking forward to seeing their favorites rock out together with a Beatle. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure most of them were there for Ringo too. But something about that was just really annoying. I dunno.

It also doesn't help that he and other artists protest this particular law and then go on to perform in states and countries that have even fewer LGBT protections.

Presumably the five or six other famous dudes have mouths and access to social media so they can address their fans directly instead of requiring Ringo to be the One Voice Who Speaks For Them All.

Yes, that certainly is an option. However, it's technically Ringo's band, so it's a somewhat gray area. Not the point though. Being inconsiderate is.

Well, it wouldn't make sense for him to apologize for disappointing the people who weren't his fans, would it? And a little presumptuous of him to apologize for those other 5-6 famous dudes, since their fans would likely appreciate hearing from them if they're not fans of Ringo.
