I don't get in general wearing shoes that cause you pain and/or back/foot issues. It is possible to find pretty shoes that you can still actually walk in without hurting yourself.

Flat sandals with thin soles are the ones that would kill my feet. I can wear sneakers and whatnot with arch-support and heel support inserts, but I can't put those into sandals. So wedges and the kind of platform shoes with heels are more comfortable for me.

Those hurt my feet too. I have so many shoe issues. I have really high arches and also lower back issues, so finding shoes I can wear comfortably is really hard. I have orthotics right now, but most of the time I wear my sneakers if I can get away with it. Flats bother me, heals bother me, most shoes bother me really.
