Why not rip them yourself and save money though

This concern is not real lol what someone spends money on is nobody's business.

Besides, not everyone has the skills to make it look a way that they'd like.

clearly its a concern for me? Especially when it makes non ripped skinny jeans so much harder for me to find - plus the principle of people being upcharged for less and damaged fabric bothers me.

also ripping things literally doesn't take skill

I agree with supermanda about rips adding texture. I love ripped jeans too. :)

If you want the rips to look good, then yes it really does.

Well, of course it's fine for you to be concerned if it affects you directly, but the last comment mentioned other people's money, and that's what I was replying to.

I do see your point on being charged more for less, but I can't really comment on that, since I don't understand how pricing works. I do feel the same way about thongs and g-strings though, those are usually expensive for what they are.

That's really adorable, but making something sound stupid on paper is irrelevant to the reality of it. Some people, like myself, just don't have an eye for the way clothes should be textured. Some ripped jeans are hideous and look like a toddler took scissors to some denim, but others I think are quite nice and tattered in a way that I personally couldn't come up with on my own.
