We found out my insurance covers allergy shots, so I made an appointment for next week. Unfortunately, I have to be completely off antihistamines until then. And while Boston pollen didn't seem to bother me (and actually made me think I'd outgrown my allergies), San Antonio pollen does. The Ragweed and grass pollens are high right now as well as mold, and they are making me miserable. Not being able to take Benadryl for a week is actually a bit scary.

Mentally doing a lot better. I'm taking the liquid version of my antidepressent now, and it seems to work better for me. Still have bad days, but they aren't as frequent as they were. Still stressed about job stuff and bar stuff, but I can manage it now. Mostly my issues right now are that my physical health issues are frustrating me. The combination of allergy issues and back pain are making it difficult to do anything and making me frustrated. I've had a headache every day the past two weeks, half of those days it was a migraine. I really can't function like this very well.

oof, texas allergies are the worst. I've lived in texas all my life and just always kind of figured that allergies were the same no matter what state you were in. then I spent a summer in alaska when I was a teenager and was amazed to have no allergy problems; I don't think I took allergy meds the entire time I was there.

My working theory is that at least part of it has to do with the dry air, lack of rain, and heat that allows things to grow longer and stay in the air longer. But yes, my experience so far is that Texas is the worst for allergies. And being off antihistamines for a week is going to be bad because I've been taking just about the max amount of Benadryl I can take in addition to my regular antihistamine for the past few weeks.

also very different vegetation. I live in central europe and we've been having more problems with allergies lately because the rising temperatures change the local flora and give rise to certain species of plants that cause and trigger allergies.

True. I don't think we had much ragweed in Boston. And ragweed is the thing besides dust that I'm most allergic to.
