I really need to go to more wine tasting things so I can try some more unusual wines. How does mead differ from regular wine? Except that Norse gods drink it.:P

I live in the Midwest too! The wine company that was visiting here was from McAlester, OK. But I sadly, have a terrible palate for taste testing.

The meads I've had have all been fairly sweet (although not necessarily as sweet as some dessert wines can get) and have a definite under-taste of honey. It's not like drinking honey straight, or anything, though.

Oh yeah! They are honey based right? Instead of hops? I bet I'd like those more than beer.

Yep, it's honey, but mead is like wine, not bubbly like beer.
